Why Pink Oyster Mushrooms Stand Out
Pink oyster mushrooms love warm grow rooms and appear in fluffy clusters that blush a bright salmon color. They cook in minutes and carry a gentle seafood aroma that turns rich when the edges crisp in the pan.
Pan-Fried Pink Oysters (8-10 Minutes)
- 8 ounces fresh pink oyster mushrooms, cleaned and torn into large petals
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Warm the olive oil in a wide skillet over medium heat. Spread the pink oysters in one layer on the pan.
Season with salt and pepper and let the mushrooms cook without stirring for 3 to 4 minutes so the edges brown. Flip or toss, lower the heat a bit, and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes until the petals curl and turn golden. Sprinkle in the minced garlic during the last minute so it warms without burning.
